Come join the Brilliant Catalyst and special guests as we discuss the current and future state of black entrepreneurship in a post-covid world!
Keeping Up The Momentum
Building off of the momentum created during Black History Month, Brilliant Catalyst hosted a Virtual Panel Discussion where we invited our special guests, Sam Asirifi from the Dream Legacy Foundation and Téjahn Burnett, founder of the namesake footwear brand, Téjahn Burnett.
The topic of the discussion was Black Entrepreneurship, focusing on how the landscape and perceptions of being a black entrepreneur have changed post-COVID-19.
One of the key questions addressed during the discussion was how the landscape of black entrepreneurship in Southern Ontario has changed since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our panelists highlighted the resilience and creativity of black entrepreneurs, noting that many had adapted their businesses to the challenges posed by the pandemic by pivoting to online platforms and developing *brilliant* innovative solutions to satisfy changing consumer needs.
Another important topic of discussion was the role of modern-day initiatives in supporting and promoting black entrepreneurship in Southern Ontario. The panelists emphasized the importance of community support and mentorship programs in providing aspiring black entrepreneurs with the resources and guidance they need to succeed. They also highlighted the importance of representation, highlighting that seeing successful black entrepreneurs inspires others to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.
Looking towards the future, the panelists shared their advice for aspiring black entrepreneurs navigating the post-COVID landscape. They emphasized the importance of resilience, adaptability, and perseverance, and mentioned that while the road to success may be challenging, it is one hundred percent incredibly rewarding. They also encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to seek out mentors and support networks offering to help them navigate the challenges of starting and growing a business.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the discussion!
