Tell us about yourself!
I'm a third-year mechanical engineering student with a passion for learning, athletics, and mentorship. I love to play basketball and weight train, guide other students through leadership programs, and I'm always striving to make an impact. Beyond academics and sports, I model for Frère du Nord and enjoy photography in my free time.
How did you first hear about Brilliant Catalyst, and what drew you to seek support?
I heard of Brilliant Catalyst through general word of mouth and social media as well. But it wasn't until I met the team, that I realized how much there is to gain from the programs. Their passion, support, and commitment to innovation opened my eyes to the countless opportunities they provide for entrepreneurs and professionals.

Can you tell us about your journey to becoming a founder? What inspired or motivated you to start your own business?
The inspiration for MyUniGuide came from recognizing how overwhelming the transition from high school to university can be for students across Canada. Too often, students struggle with fragmented information, unclear choices, and uncertainty about their future. My co-founders and I saw an opportunity to bridge this gap by creating a platform that offers a comprehensive university comparison tool, personalized recommendations, and real student testimonials—all in one place.
Beyond just information, we wanted to provide mentorship, connecting high school students with current university students who can share firsthand insights on academics, campus culture, and career opportunities. Brilliant Catalyst played a key role in turning this vision into reality, equipping us with the resources, mentorship, and community support to grow our idea into a startup that empowers students to make confident decisions about their post-secondary journey.
What were some key lessons or insights you gained from working with Brilliant Catalyst mentors or participating in their programs?
Brilliant Catalyst taught me the importance of resilience and dedication when facing challenges. I learned to shift my mindset, viewing problems as opportunities and thinking from a business perspective—focusing on market needs, value, and long-term impact.
Can you share any future goals or plans for your business?
Our goal for MyUniGuide is to expand its reach across Canada, making it the go-to platform for students navigating university decisions. We plan to enhance our AI-driven recommendations, build partnerships with schools and organizations, and grow our mentor-mentee network to provide even more personalized guidance. Ultimately, we want to ensure every student has access to the information and support they need to make confident choices about their future.
Reflecting on your journey, how has your relationship with Brilliant Catalyst evolved over time, and what role do you see them playing in your future endeavours?
My relationship with Brilliant has evolved beautifully over time. Since joining my first Brilliant Catalyst program in the fall of 2023, I've actively participated in several of their initiatives, including the summer incubator program which played a pivotal role in launching my start-up. Beyond being a participant, I now contribute to the team as a part-time University Works student and look forward to continuing this relationship as my business evolves and expands.
